This is so that they can start to prepare the paperwork required as soon as possible, avoiding any delays that may hold up the process. The solicitor that you appoint will act on behalf of your Mortgage lender and your solicitor will require the details from you, such that they can seek their authority to proceed with the purchase of the property.
