Property Information

A stunning period cottage with a large detached barn and pretty gardens overlooking paddocks.

Entrance Porch, Sitting Room, Wet Room, Kitchen/Breakfast Room, Dining Room, Three Double Bedrooms, Family Bathroom, Delightful Rear Garden, Spacious Detached Barn, Ample Driveway Parking

The Property:
This well-presented semi-detached cottage has deceptive accommodation over two floors. The ground floor has two great reception rooms: a sitting room with a fitted wood burning stove and a separate dining room. The spacious double aspect kitchen is fitted with 'shaker' style units and an AGA, and leaves plenty of space for a large dining table and chairs. A contemporary wet room completes this floor's accommodation. The first floor has three generous bedrooms and a family bathroom. Externally there is a driveway to the front of the property and a large detached barn which has double doors and could facilitate vehicle parking. Internally the barn has been plastered and is fitted with a wood burning stove and offers huge versatility, although is currently used as a room for hobbies; planning was also granted in 2018 (H/18/83581) to link the house and barn with a centralised hallway which would create a new 'live in' style kitchen/family/dining room and an additional bedroom with an en-suite . The rear garden is a real feature and adjoins paddock land. A lower terrace with a shaped brick wall winds around and joins another terrace, the rest of the garden is laid to lawn with flower and shrub borders and a wooden garden shed.

The Location:
Set on the edge of the village, opposite Stoke Park Wood which consists of a beautiful mix of ancient woodland and newly planted trees, and within walking distance of Wyvern School and The Fox and Hounds pub. Fair Oak itself is also conveniently close to the market town of Bishops Waltham with its broad range of shops and amenities and the city of Winchester and only ten minutes away from Eastleigh's mainline railway station, Southampton Airport and all main motorway access routes are also easily accessible.

Directions:
From Winchester proceed in a southerly direction along St. Cross Road heading straight over the first roundabout following signs for the M3. At the next roundabout take the first exit sign posted Twyford and at the next set of traffic lights turn right towards Twyford. Proceed through Twyford, continue for some distance, and proceed through Colden Common.
