There are pockets of affordable homes everywhere

People who are looking to get onto the property ladder with their
first properties for sale should make sure that they are not just
keeping their search to one area of the UK, despite reports saying
that some are less expensive than others.
Catherine Hearnden, director of MyMortgageDirect, said that in
general the north-west and areas of Wales are cheaper than other
areas of the country, but reminded first-time buyers that they can
be found anywhere, including the south-east.
"You get pockets in every area. Even in the south-east there are
pockets where properties are much cheaper. You can pick up some
bargains in some areas."
She also said that the recent increase in first-time buyers should
be taken with a pinch of salt, thanks to the fact that there were
more coming into the market to beat the stamp duty holiday.
More people now find it harder to get onto the property ladder
because of the fact that it can cost them as much as 25 per cent of
the value to pay for a deposit.
