Property sellers 'should use estate agents'

Property sellers should make use of estate agents when putting
their houses on the market, according to one industry expert.
Paul Smith, the chief executive at independent estate agent haart, said that purchasing a property is
the most significant transaction that takes place in most people's
lives, which is why it should not be left to chance.
His comments follow remarks made by Philip Bullman of the National
Association of Estate Agents in a recent interview with Sky News
Online.
Mr Bullman claimed that traditional high street estate agents could
soon find themselves under threat due to the increasing pull of
property websites.
"More than one in four transactions fall through after agreement
and someone running a website will find it difficult to put the
chain back together or renegotiate sales like a local agent can,"
stated Mr Smith in response.
He added that many estate agents discuss any difficulties and
reassure customers on a weekly basis.
