Problems begin with landlords ignorance of law

Some of the biggest issues in the private rental sector are found
when landlords are ignorant of the laws that they are required to
operate under, according to one expert.
Tessa Shepperson of landlordlaw.co.uk, said: "If landlords deal
with things properly and comply with the various regulations then
they should be fine. The problem is when they are ignorant of
these."
She added that it was impossible to be a landlord on pure instinct,
and it is vital that anyone planning to do so takes the chance to
learn of their legal obligations beforehand.
Ms Shepperson said that it is never an excuse to claim to be
ignorant of laws, and this can work against landlords if they end
up in court over an issue.
It was recently reported by Upad that landlords across the UK are
set to enjoy further good fortunes, after the news that many will
be seeing rental prices increasing in coming months.
