Merger boost to NLA membership

The membership of the National Landlords Association (NLA) has been
increased by the decision of a Scottish association to join forces
with it, which may interest those involved in the buy-to-let
sector.
NLA numbers have been swelled by its merger with the South of
Scotland Private Landlords Association (SoSPLA), the NLA has
announced today.
Welcoming the move, NLA Scotland chairman Jim Parker said this
would be beneficial in the south of Scotland, commenting: "We can
provide a louder voice for landlords in the area, helping to raise
the profile of the private-rented sector and the contribution it
makes to the housing mix."
SoSPLA founder member Jim Sharpe remarked that it was beneficial
for all the UK's landlords to join forces in "one unified voice" to
benefit members of the association and help influence housing
policies.
Earlier this month NLA Scotland issued a reminder to its members
that from January 4th it has been mandatory under new legislation
to provide energy performance certificates to new tenants.
