Data shows value of Hips, says Ahipp

The Association of Home Information Pack Providers (Ahipp) has
hailed new research indicating that the packs have helped to reduce
transaction times in the housing market.
Research by MyHomeMove, the parent company of Hip provider
MyHomeInformationPack, showed that the time from instruction to
contract exchange has fallen from an average of 52 days to an
average of 39 days in the year to July.
Responding to this, Ahipp director general Mike Ockenden said:
"This is yet another example that Hips, even in their incomplete
state, are making a real difference to the time taken to exchange
contracts."
He added that "a lot more people" would benefit from the packs if
everyone in the industry was more customer-focused.
Last week, property services firm LMS stated that Hips had speeded
up the process of buying and selling by seven days since they were
introduced last year.
